Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease encompasses a large and diverse spectrum of disease who consequences can span decades. Education, prevention, early recognition and intervention is critical for success. We will discuss a patient with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, from symptoms development to treatment focusing on all considerations that go into the decisions made treating this disease and common complications of the disease.

Dr. Shaun Daly is an American Board of Surgery (ABS) certified General Surgeon who has additional fellowship training in advanced minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Daly specialized in gastroesophageal reflux disease, and diseases of the upper digestive tract including hernias of the diaphragm, hiatal hernias, achalasia and management of recurrent disease or complications for previous foregut operations. Dr. Daly earned his Medical Degree from Rush University Medical School in Chicago. He completed his general surgery residency training at Rush University Medical Center and the John H. Stroger, Jr Hospital of Cook County. He completed a Fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Bariatric and Gastrointestinal Surgery at the University of California Irvine Medical Center where he holds an appointment as an assistant professor of surgery.
