Severe Emphysema: Changing the Paradigm of Treatment

Emphysema is a severe form of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is a progressive and life-threatening lung disease that currently has no cure. Patients living with emphysema experience shortness of breath, chronic cough and respiratory infections. More than 15 million Americans suffer from COPD, 3.5 million of whom have emphysema.

UCI Health doctors Javier Longoria, MD, and Niral Patel, MD, are the only providers in Orange County to offer endobronchial valve placement, a new minimally invasive treatment for emphysema. The procedure is the first of its kind approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Join Longoria and Patel for a virtual presentation to learn more about this exciting new procedure for people living with emphysema.
