Dr. Navid Alem is a UCI Health anesthesiology who has advanced training in providing anesthesia for neurosurgical cases.
Alem received his medical degree from the UC Irvine School of Medicine, and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Southern California (USC). He subsequently completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at USC, where he received training in an array of medical, interventional and behavioral modalities to assist patients with acute and chronic pain syndromes. He also received integrated training in Regional Anesthesia during his pain fellowship.
Alem continued additional training at USC in anesthesiology for complex neurosurgical cases. His research interests include perioperative and intraoperative techniques that can help prevent patients from developing chronic pain syndromes post-surgery.
