Dr. Igor I. Bussel is a UCI Health ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract, glaucoma and advanced anterior segment surgery.
Bussel earned his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, where he also earned master’s degrees in biomedical science and healthcare administration. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a fellowship in glaucoma and advanced anterior segment surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, as well as a hybrid fellowship in glaucoma at UCI School of Medicine.
Bussel’s clinical research interests include the development of micro-invasive glaucoma surgical devices, novel ophthalmic imaging modalities and glaucoma clinical trials. He has presented research and given talks at national and international meetings, and has written numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He speaks English and Russian.
Bussel sees patients at UCI Health Gavin Herbert Eye Institute in Irvine and UCI Health Eye Care Services in Orange.
