Dr. Emad Elquza is a board-certified UCI Health medical oncologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of cancers.

As medical director of the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Elquza coordinates and supervises all UCI Health outpatient and inpatient cancer services, including the integration of clinical and research efforts. He also is overseeing the expansion of UCI Health cancer services throughout Orange County.

Elquza earned his medical degree at Flinders University School of Medicine in Australia. He completed an internal medicine residency and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Before joining UCI Health, Elquza served as executive medical director of clinical oncology services at Banner — University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., and associate director of clinical services at the University of Arizona Cancer Center, also in Tucson.

His research interests include the development of novel treatment options for patients with pancreatic cancer and the study of stem cell mobilization in patients treated with bone marrow transplantation. He is the author or co-author of numerous publications and abstracts.
