Dr. Mehraneh Dorna Jafari is a board-certified UCI Health colon and rectal surgeon who specializes in diseases and disorders of the lower gastrointestinal tract.
Jafari’s clinical interests include colon, rectal and anal cancer, recurrent cancer, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, colon and rectal polyps, rectal prolapse, anal fissures, fistulas and hemorrhoids. She also specializes in minimally invasive robot-assisted surgical approaches to colon and rectal surgery as well as multidisciplinary treatments for recurrent and advanced colon and rectal cancer.
Jafari earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, followed by a residency in general surgery at UCI School of Medicine in Irvine. She completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
