Dr. Stephen H. Mott is a board-certified UCI Health child neurologist who specializes in cognitive and developmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorders.

He earned his medical degree at the Faculté Libre de Médecine de l'Université Catholique in Lille, France. He completed an Internship and residency in pediatrics at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Next he completed a second residency in adult neurology and fellowship in pediatric neurology at George Washington University School of Medicine and the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in developmental and cognitive neurology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Md.

Before joining UCI Health and the UCI School of Medicine, Mott served as director of the Child Development Program at Children's National Medical Center, division chief of pediatric neurology and child development at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and director of the child development program at Children's Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

His research focus includes autism, epilepsy and epileptiform activity, executive function and glucocorticoids.

Mott sees patients in Costa Mesa.
