Lactation Resources

UC Irvine offers breastfeeding and lactation support and resources to employees.

Lactation rooms

UCI Health has Medela hospital-grade pumps for staff members to use while they pump at work. Employees are responsible for purchasing their own Medela double electric breast pump kit.

There are several lactation rooms throughout the medical center for your convenience:

  • Douglas Hospital, Room 6004
    Keys are available from the atrium main lobby information desk on the first floor. After 9:30 p.m., a key can be obtained from the security desk.
  • Douglas Hospital, Room 5409
    Keys are available from the atrium main lobby information desk on the first floor. After 9:30 p.m., a key can be obtained from the security desk.
  • Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Pump Room
    The room is located inside the changing room. The pump room is for OSS/GI employees only.
  • 200 Manchester Pavilion, 8th Floor, Suite 837
    Contact the Benefits Department at 714-456-5736 for key availability, Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • UCI Health SeniorHealth Center, Building 25B, Room 146A
    Request key from receptionist desk. For use by staff and guests only. No pump provided.
  • Gottschalk Medical Plaza, B35, Irvine, Room 1608
    Request key from receptionist desk. For use by staff and guests. No pump provided.

Resources

Medical plan resources: UC medical plans provide a variety of breastfeeding support resources including nurse lines, counselors and online programs to help you if you have questions about breastfeeding. If you are covered by a UC medical plan, breastfeeding support, supplies and counseling may be available at no cost. For details, contact your plan ›

Guidance Resources Employee Assistance Program: Call 844-UCI-EAP3 or visit guidanceresources.com (company ID: UCIEAP3) 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
