Dr. Donald C. Dafoe is a board-certified UCI Health surgeon who specializes in kidney and pancreas transplantation.
Dafoe earned his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He completed an internship and surgical residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also completed a fellowship in transplantation surgery.
A transplant surgeon with more than 30 years of clinical, research and academic experience, Dafoe comes to UCI Medical Center and the UCI School of Medicine from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he directed the pancreas transplant program. He previously served as director of the University of Michigan's pancreas transplantation program and professor and chair of surgery at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.
Dafoe has published more than 160 scientific papers and has served on boards of numerous professional organizations. He is chief of the UCI School of Medicine's Division of Tranplantation and surgical director of UCI Health Kidney Transplant Services.
