Dr. Shadi Milani-Nejad is a board-certified UCI Health neurologist who specializes in the care and treatment of patients with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myositis, neuropathy and headaches.
She is skilled in electrodiagnostic procedures and offers a range of treatment options, including pharmacological therapies and lifestyle modification.
Milani-Nejad earned her medical degree at Midwestern University's Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Ariz. She completed an internal medicine internship at UCI School of Medicine, where she also completed a residency in neurology and fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine.
Her research interests include the study of antibodies in connection with ALS. She also has done extensive volunteer work, participating on a medical mission to Panama as an undergraduate and working at a soup kitchen and homeless shelters as a medical student.
Milani-Nejad, who is fluent in Farsi, considers neurology a personal calling. She is dedicated to understanding her patients' needs and using her medical training to enhance their quality of life. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and being out on the water.
She sees patients at the .UCI Health ALS & Neuromuscular Center in Orange, as well as in Laguna Hills and Newport Beach.
