Dr. Sangeeta S. Sakaria is a board-certified UCI Health emergency medicine physician whose clinical interests include mountain medicine, dive and marine medicine, flight medicine and global health.
Sakaria also serves as the co-director of the emergency department at Catalina Island Medical Center, which is run by UCI Health.
Sakaria earned her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and a master’s in public health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston. She completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Sakaria’s focus in global health is in improving clinical programs in developing countries. She has completed projects on maternal mortality and mother-to-child transmission of infectious disease. She has served as a flight physician for local helicopter transports and fixed-wing international transports.
Sakaria practices at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange and Catalina Island Medical Center.
