State board honors volunteer faculty

IN THE NEWS: The Orange County Register featured a volunteer faculty member who was recently given the Physician Humanitarian Award for 2011 by the California Medical Board. Dr. Richard Kammerman hung up his white coat years ago yet every Monday afternoon, he’s on call. Not for the patients, but for their young doctors at the UC Irvine Family Health Center. For 10 years, he’s volunteered his time alongside UC Irvine professors to oversee the residents at the downtown Santa Ana clinic.
