Dr. Wei Ling Lau is a board-certified UCI Health nephrologist who specializes in treating kidney diseases. She is committed to individualized patient care. Her interests include management of chronic kidney disease, high blood pressure, kidney stones and electrolyte disturbances.

Lau is actively researching phosphorus overload and cardiovascular disease, which contributes to a high rate of heart failure in patients who have chronic kidney disease. Lau uses animal and cell-culture models to study mechanisms that contribute to blood-vessel calcification. Her work has been published in high-impact nephrology journals and she has been recognized with a top poster award at the National Kidney Foundation’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C.
