Yoga therapy at the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute is designed for adults of all ages and all levels of flexibility.

Yoga is one of the six systems of Vedic philosophy originating from India. In Sanskrit, yoga means “union” or “yoke” and refers to union of the mind and body. It outlines practical methods of purifying the mind through asanas (poses), pranayama (breathing) and meditation while it promotes self-discovery and awakens the connection to your soul. When it comes to healing the body, mind and spirit, yoga therapies go hand-in-hand with its sister science of Ayurveda.

We practice a type of yoga known as Naam. Naam yoga offers a powerful and joyful approach to mind-body wellness. It aims to help balance the brain and the glandular, digestive and nervous systems. Naam yoga is a self-healing practice that includes the precise science of breath, sound, movement and mudra therapy (hand postures).

Naam yoga is therapeutic and rehabilitative in its approach, and it encourages you to have a direct experience of vibrant health.

We offer weekly Naam yoga classes at the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute in Costa Mesa. Each class is 90 minutes.

Fee: Single classes are $15 per person; six classes are $75

Schedule: Every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
