This holiday season, ditch the high-calorie, high-fat green bean casserole and try this light, fresh and flavorful alternative.

Roasted Green Beans with Almond Slivers

Start to finish: 35 minutes

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 pounds green beans, trimmed and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Heat oven to 425 degrees F.

Place trimmed and rinsed beans in a bag and add olive oil, salt and pepper. Shake to coat evenly.

Pour beans onto a baking sheet and spread out. Bake in oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle almonds on top and put back in oven for 5 minutes. Green beans and almonds should be light brown and toasted.
