Corey J. Rood, MD

Dr. Corey J. Rood is a board-certified, fellowship-trained UCI Health pediatrician who specializes in general pediatrics and child abuse.
Rood earned his medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. He completed a residency in general pediatrics at the UNM School of Medicine in Albuquerque, N.M., followed by a fellowship in child abuse pediatrics at Nationwide Children's in Washington, D.C. He serves as medical director of the Child Abuse Services Team (CAST) with the UCI School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics.
His clinical focus is on the diagnosis, care and management of potentially abused and neglected children. His research focus includes studies on commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC), international and domestic human trafficking, sexting and online sexual solicitation of adolescents.
Rood, who serves as the UCI Health medical director of child abuse pediatric services, practices in Orange.
