Compliance: Research Compliance The Compliance & Privacy Office is responsible for the organizational integration of the Research Compliance Program through collaboration with leaders across the research community including, but not limited to, the Office of Research, Environmental Health & Safety, UCI Health and the College of Health Sciences. The office works to ensure that policies, procedures, programs and educational activities are developed to satisfy federal, state and institutional regulations governing the conduct of research. The Research Compliance Program provides training and educational programs for faculty, staff and students so that they may better meet compliance requirements. In addition, the office may perform routine or for-cause compliance assurance audits and recommend institutional responses to ensure compliance in the following research risk areas: Research Billing Human Subjects Protections Conflicts of Interest Research Misconduct Grant Management Time and Effort Reporting Export Controls Biosafety Animal Research Research Privacy and Security Investigational Drug and Device Storage Records and Retention Other services provided by the Compliance & Privacy Office include, but are not limited to: Providing Regulatory Expertise Monitoring Regulatory Changes Responding to Reported Research Concerns Participating in UCI Health Committees and Work Groups Maintaining the Research Compliance Website
