Dr. Matthew J. Butteri is a board-certified UCI Health internist who specializes in geriatric medicine and the care of hospitalized patients.

His clinical interests cancer screening, dementia, diabetes, hypertension, polypharmacy and preventive medicine.

Butteri earned his medical degrees at Keck School of Medicine at USC in Los Angeles, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif. He also completed fellowship training in geriatric medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Bay View Medical Center in Baltimore, Md.

He sees patients at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
