All UC Irvine medical students get iPad 2

IN THE NEWS: The iPad was introduced in April of last year and UC Irvine put together an education program – the iMedEd Initiative – centered around the tablet just a few months after launch.
Exactly one year ago the university handed 104 iPads to the incoming medical students at the white coat ceremony, when the incoming class was handed their iconic white uniforms on their way to becoming doctors. Another class of 104 students is receiving iPad 2s this year at their white coat ceremony on Aug. 5. They’re getting 16 GB 3G versions of the device including a year of cellular service on Verizon.
