Colorectal cancer: How you can prevent it

UCI Health webinar

March 02, 2015

Among non-smokers, colorectal cancer is the number one cancer killer.

Although there is not a single cause of colorectal cancer, certain factors can increase your risk. Some risk factors can be modified, while others are beyond your control. The good news is that no matter how high on the risk scale you are, colorectal cancer can be diagnosed early and treated successfully.

Colorectal cancer expert Dr. William E. Karnes explains the risk factors that you can control and those you can’t, the importance of colorectal cancer screening and how to prevent colorectal cancer.

Overview:

  • Who gets colorectal cancer and why?
  • What is my risk for colorectal cancer?
  • How can I reduce my risk for colorectal cancer?
  • How do I choose the best screening test?
  • How often do I need screening?
  • What should I look for in a specialist/center?

Join our live Twitter chat at #UCIHealthChat on Monday, March 9 at noon PST for a Q&A about colorectal cancer with Dr. Karnes.
