Dr. Lilangi Ediriwickrema is a UCI Health board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, neuro-ophthalmology and orbital disease.
Ediriwickrema received her medical degree from Yale University in New Haven, Conn. She completed an internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and a residency in ophthalmology at Keck School of Medicine of USC, where she was chief resident. She also completed fellowships at Johns Hopkins University’s Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, MD, and the Shiley Eye Institute at UC San Diego Health.
Ediriwickrema’s clinical and research interests include oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery, orbital disease, periocular and facial reconstruction, biomedical engineering, neuro-ophthalmology and neuroprotection.
She has presented research and given talks at national and international meetings such as the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the International Society for Ocular Cellular Biology Meeting, the North American Neuro-ophthalmological Society and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She also has written numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. She is committed to both medical student and resident education.
Ediriwickerema sees patients at UCI Health Eye Care Services in Orange and UCI Health Gavin Herbert Eye Institute in Irvine.
