New UCI Health Patients

If you are a patient from Fountain Valley, Lakewood Regional, Los Alamitos or Placentia Linda medical centers, please use the information and FAQs below to learn more about the new UCI Health Community Network.

What has taken place?

UCI Health has completed the acquisition of four hospitals and associated outpatient locations from Tenet Healthcare. Beginning March 27, 2024, the co-workers and physicians of Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, Lakewood Regional Medical Center, Los Alamitos Medical Center and Placentia Linda Hospital are now part of UCI Health.

The locations are now called:

UCI Health – Fountain Valley
UCI Health – Lakewood
UCI Health – Los Alamitos
UCI Health – Placentia Linda

Can patients still use the same doctors and care facilities?

Patients will continue to see their same physicians at the same locations they have come to know.

Will my insurance still be accepted?

Insurance plans will transfer to UCI Health and coverage for patients will continue. Your provider will contact you in advance of your appointment if any additional information is needed.

Will my care change?

Nothing is changing for the way you access care as care teams will remain the same. UCI Health is excited to expand access to quality care in local communities. This means more benefits for you the patient, such as access to the only Level I Trauma Center in the region and an opportunity to foster stronger doctor-patient relationships, and better tailor care to meet your individual needs, ultimately promoting better health outcomes and satisfaction.

Will there be any changes to the services provided to patients?

UCI Health will further our commitment to expand access to quality care in local communities, invest in healthcare services locally, recruit talent more effectively, and broaden the network of local care providers our patients rely on. This means more benefits for patients and clinicians, such as access to the only Level I Trauma Center in the region and an opportunity to foster stronger doctor-patient relationships, and better tailor care to individual needs, ultimately promoting better health outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Will my healthcare now be more expensive?

At UCI Health, we have a long-standing commitment to making care more accessible and affordable. That commitment has not changed as a result of this expansion.

Will I lose any access to services or treatments?

At this time, nothing will change for the way you access care at your local facilities as care teams will remain the same at the same facilities.

Will my patient portal change?

Some patients of outpatient clinics will need to create a new patient portal account. You will receive information from your care team with instructions.
