Our specialists at the UCI Health Neuropsychiatric Center use a variety of therapies in helping patients back to recovery. These include group therapy, occupational therapy and music therapy. Treatment may also include a closely-monitored medication plan. Additionally, a highly trained, compassionate nursing staff provides patient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our adult inpatient services offer two types of inpatient units. Both units treat patients 18 years and older:
- The Adult Psychiatric Unit provides treatment and diagnosis to adults in the midst of an acute mental health crisis.
- The Medical Psychiatric Unit is especially designed for psychiatric patients who have also been diagnosed with a severe medical illness. This unit accepts patients who may be on dialysis, require wound care or need intravenous or tube feeding.
We are very proud of our Youth Services programs, which focus on helping both the child and the family deal with their current crisis while assisting the family with the development of preventive measures for the future.
