Worried about possible cellphone-cancer link?

IN THE NEWS: A new report from the World Health Organization labeling cellphones a “possible carcinogen” is drawing mixed reactions from scientists, including one UC Irvine expert who says data used to make the connection remain ambiguous, according to the Orange County Register.
“I would not say we need to throw our cellphones away,” said neuro-oncologist Dr. Daniela Bota, director of UC Irvine’s Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program. The report “raises a very interesting hypothesis that needs to be tested,” she said. “But what I would not want to see is taking harsh decisions, creating a panic on use of cellphones based on these limited data.”
