He earned his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. He completed an internship and a residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in laryngology at Stanford University.
