Alexandra Lopez-Aguiar, MD, MS, FACS, is a board-certified UCI Health general surgeon and complex surgical oncologist with a passion for the multimodal treatment of breast cancer.
Originally from Miami, Florida, she earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth University. She completed seven years of General Surgery training at Emory University School of Medicine, followed by a two-year Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship at The Ohio State University James Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Her specific areas of expertise include hormone positive and negative breast cancer, inflammatory breast cancer, genetic mutations that increase the risk of cancer, benign breast diseases and sentinel lymph node biopsies. She is dedicated to taking an individualized and multidisciplinary approach to each of her patients as she aims to improve their quality of life.
