Ashten B. Waks, MD

Dr. Ashten Waks is a board-certified, fellowship-trained UCI Health obstetrician who specializes in maternal-fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancies.
She earned her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where she was recognized as a Leaders of Tomorrow scholar. She then completed a residency in obstetrics at UC San Diego and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at UC Irvine. Previously, she received a masters of science in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
She has been awarded numerous grants for her research, which focuses on hypertensive disorders of pregnancy including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and point-of-care ultrasound. She is the author or co-author of over a dozen publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited to present her work at numerous professional meetings.
