Dr. Maki Yamamoto is a board-certified UCI Health surgical oncologist. Her clinical interests include the surgical treatment of skin malignancies such as melanoma and Merkel cell carcinomas; endocrine diseases, such as thyroid cancer, parathyroid disease, adrenal tumors and soft tissue sarcomas.
Yamamoto earned her medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. She completed a residency in general surgery at UCI Medical Center and fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of South Florida's Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla. She has published numerous research papers and book chapters in her field.
