He earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at the UCI Health Gavin Herbert Eye Institute in Irvine, followed by a fellowship in glaucoma at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University in Palo Alto.
