Omar Darwish, D.O., M.Sc. is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and board-certified internist practicing as a hospitalist at UCI Health — Orange. He is Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and Director of the Department of Medicine Morbidity & Mortality (M&M) conference. In that role he designs and leads educational conferences for faculty and residents that turn complex cases into lessons on diagnostic reasoning and patient safety.
Darwish’s clinical interests include quality improvement, complex diagnostic cases (including rare diseases), acute pulmonary embolism, and anticoagulation management. He is a member of a Department of Medicine pilot project to improve advance care planning for hospitalized patients with dementia.
