Omar M. Nagy, DO

Dr. Omar M. Nagy is a board-certified UCI Health internal medicine physician and academic hospitalist. He also serves as a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.

He completed his internal medicine residency at Riverside Community Hospital in a program affiliated with the UC Riverside School of Medicine. Prior to joining UCI Health, he held clinical appointments with the UC Riverside School of Medicine and the Keck School of Medicine of USC, where he also served as an academic hospitalist and Unit Medical Director, with administrative responsibilities spanning patient flow, care coordination and quality improvement.

Nagy's clinical focus centers on caring for hospitalized adults with conditions including heart failure, chronic kidney disease, lung disease and diabetes, among other complex illnesses. He is committed to ensuring patients are discharged safely with a care plan that is clear and meaningful to both patients and their families. His professional interests include patient safety, quality improvement and the responsible integration of AI in health care. These interests also inform his approach to medical education, and he is passionate about helping residents and medical students develop strong clinical reasoning and thoughtful, safe practices at the bedside.
