Ryan S. Hsi, MD
Urology
Dr. Ryan Hsi is a board-certified UCI Health urologist who specializes in minimally invasive and endourologic surgery.
He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, Calif. He completed a residency in urology at the University of Washington in Seattle, followed by a fellowship in endourology and laparoscopy at UC San Francisco.
A nationally recognized expert in kidney stone disease, he performs advanced treatments such as ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy and mini and standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy.
Hsi’s research focuses on improving the prevention, diagnosis and management of kidney stones through clinical trials, health services research and data-driven innovations. He has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is principal investigator for multiple NIH-funded studies, including projects to optimize kidney stone prevention and to develop national research networks for urinary stone disease.
A recipient of the American Urological Association’s Gold Cystoscope Award, Dr. Hsi is committed to translating scientific discovery into better patient care. He has received multiple teaching awards for education and mentorship.
