He earned his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Ga. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and UCLA Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in child neurology at UCLA and a fellowship in headache neurology at the UCLA Goldberg Migraine Program.
