He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Md. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, followed by a fellowship in nuclear medicine at the National Capital Consortium Program–Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda.
