Yesim Yilmaz Demirdag, MD

Dr. Yesim Yilmaz Demirdag is a board-certified UCI Health allergist and clinical immunologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of immunodeficiencies in children and adults. She serves as director of the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, where she trains the next generation of allergists and immunologists.

Demirdag earned her medical degree at Akdeniz University School of Medicine in Antalya, Turkey. She completed pediatrics residencies at Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, and at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport (LSUHSC), followed by a fellowship in allergy and immunology at LSUHSC. She also completed fellowship training in clinical cytogenetics at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.

Her clinical interests include primary and secondary immunodeficiencies, asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis, food allergies, eczema, urticaria (hives), angioedema (swelling) and drug allergies. Before joining UCI Health, she established and directed the first combined pediatric and adult primary immunodeficiency clinics at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, and at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City.

Her research interests include primary and secondary immunodeficiencies and the genetics of immunodeficiencies.

Demirdag, who also speaks Turkish, is committed to providing evidence-based, individualized care to every patient she sees.
