Dr. Naveen Bhandarkar is a board-certified UCI Health otolaryngologist who specializes in treating conditions affecting the nose, the paranasal sinuses (areas surrounding the nasal cavity) and the skull base (the interface between the sinuses and the brain).

He has extensive experience in complex and revision endoscopic sinus surgery, treating the most difficult and challenging cases of chronic sinusitis, polyps and sinus tumors. He has performed more than 2,500 procedures to date using the most advanced technologies available.

After earning a medical degree at Ohio State University’s College of Medicine in Columbus, he completed residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

His clinical interests include chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, nasal and sinus tumors, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, sinus steroid eluting implants, balloon sinuplasty, revision sinus surgery, image-guided sinus surgery and minimally invasive skull base surgery. He is active in research involving clinical trials and outcomes of sinus surgery and is also a regular reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals.

Bhandarkar sees patients at UCI Medical Center’s Pavilion 2 in Orange and at University Head & Neck Surgeons in Irvine.
