Dr. Akhil K. Das is a board-certified, fellowship-trained UCI Health urologist who specializes in prostate disease, male and female urology, and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.

He is an expert in the treatment of enlarged prostates with holmium laser enucleation, a minimally invasive procedure for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) that he has performed more than 2,000 times. His additional clinical interests include voiding disfunction and urinary incontinence in men and women as well as kidney stone disease.

Das earned his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed a residencies in general surgery and urology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in endourology at Tauranga Hospital in Tauranga, New Zealand.

His research interests include benign prostatic hyperplasia and holmium laser enucleation for prostate disease. He is author of more than 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts that have appeared in major urologic publications.

Das, who is also fluent in Hindi, sees patients in Orange and Newport Beach.
