Dr. Roxana Ghashghaei is a UCI Health cardiologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.
She works closely with patients to manage conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, heart rhythm abnormalities and heart failure. Her clinical interests include non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, women's heart health and amyloidosis. She is also board-certified in echocardiography.
Ghashghaei earned her medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at UC San Diego followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at UCI Medical Center, where she was named fellow of the year and served as chief fellow.
She has given podium presentations at international conferences and has published in peer-reviewed journals, including the journal of the American Heart Association, the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the International Journal for Women's Cardiovascular Health. Ghashghaei, who speaks Farsi and Spanish, believes that optimal patient care is achieved through active listening, applying the latest advances and cardiac technologies, and formulating a comprehensive care plan.
