Dr. Sina Kianoush is a board-certified UCI Health cardiologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, with particular expertise in lipid and cardiometabolic disorders and advanced cardiac imaging. He is director of the UCI Health Lipid & Cardiometabolic Clinic, where he cares for patients with complex cholesterol disorders and cardiometabolic risk, including hyperlipidemia, elevated lipoprotein(a), familial hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and metabolic syndrome. He also treats patients with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and arrhythmias.
Kianoush earned his medical degree from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran and his MPH from Yale University. He completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in preventive cardiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by an internal medicine residency at Yale New Haven Health’s Waterbury Hospital and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Baylor College of Medicine. He subsequently completed advanced training in cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI, at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Kianoush takes an evidence-based, individualized approach to cardiovascular care. Drawing on his background in cardiometabolic medicine, cardiovascular risk assessment and cardiac imaging, he integrates clinical information, biomarkers and cardiovascular imaging when appropriate to guide treatment and reduce cardiovascular risk.
