Dr. Maria E. Rhoads-Baeza is a board-certified UCI Health obstetrician and gynecologist who specializes in hospital obstetrics. Her clinical interests include gestational diabetes and hypertension in pregnancy.

Rhoads-Baeza earned a joint medical degree and doctorate in community health at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Urbana, Ill. Next she completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She also holds a master's degree in public health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Her research interests include the prevention and control of gestational diabetes among pregnant Latinas.
