Dr. Bahman Saatian is a board-certified UCI Health interventional pulmonologist who specializes in lung diseases and disorders, including lung cancer.
His clinical interests include lung cancer and interstitial lung disease. He is trained in advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound-guided needle aspiration of lymph nodes, therapeutic rigid bronchoscopy to insert or remove stents in airways, and bronchoscopy to remove foreign objects. He also manages pleural diseases through the use of medical thoracoscopy, pleural biopsy, pleurodesis, placement of indwelling pleural catheters and thoracostomy tube placement.
He earned his medical degree at Islamic Azad University in Iran. He completed an internship in internal medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus in Baltimore, Md., followed by an internal medicine residency in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore. Next he completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, N.Y., followed by a second fellowship in interventional pulmonology at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Mass.
Saatian, who also speaks Farsi, sees patients at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
