Dr. Mark S. Salem is a board-certified UCI Health gastroenterologist who specializes in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). His clinical interests include Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, pouch-related disorders and extra-intestinal manifestations of IBD.
Salem earned his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Fla. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at LAC+USC Medical Center and the Keck School of Medicine at USC in Los Angeles, Calif., followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
During his Baylor fellowship, he spent a month of IBD training at UC San Francisco School of Medicine as the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation's Visiting IBD fellow. He also pursued additional IBD training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
Salem sees patients at the Chao Family Comprehensive Digestive Disease Center in Orange.
