Dr. Holly M. Yong is a board-certified UCI Health surgical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of breast cancers and benign breast diseases. 

Her clinical interests include caring for young and high-risk breast cancer patients, oncoplastic surgery, health disparities, and innovative technology in breast cancer. Her passion for technological advancements led her to an observership at the Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) in South Korea, where she learned techniques for robotic mastectomy and oncoplastic techniques. 

Yong earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She completed a residency in general surgery at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in breast surgical oncology at the City of Hope Cancer Center in Duarte, Calif. 

Her research interests include oncofertility in premenopausal breast cancer patients, epigenetics and breast cancer and health disparities within the Asian communities. Her philosophy of care is providing the utmost care and compassion during patients’ most vulnerable moments, while respecting their cultural backgrounds.
