UCI Health Medical Center welcomes county’s first 2012 baby

IN THE NEWS: Orange County’s first baby born in in 2012 was delivered at 1:52 a.m. New Year’s Day at UC Irvine Medical Center. According to the Orange County Register:
Cadence Chen weighed in at 4 pounds, 2 ounces and was 17 inches long. Jane Chen delivered her naturally after more than 10 hours of labor.
Geoffrey Chen said he remembered ringing in the New Year with his wife as she was breathing through contractions. Just after midnight, it was time for his wife to deliver.
“The doctors came in gave everyone high fives and said ‘Happy New Year, let’s get started,’” he said.
