UCI Health Cancer Center — Newport continues to expand specialized services in south and coastal Orange County with the opening of the practice of neuro-oncologist Dr. Daniela Bota, co-director of the UCI Health Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program. The office is located at 1640 Newport Blvd., Costa Mesa.

Bota’s practice extends the reach of UCI Health’s unparalleled cancer care, bringing the expertise and dedication of its staff closer to where patients live and work.

As a physician with the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Orange County’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, Bota is involved in basic research as well as clinical trials, providing patients with access to leading-edge treatments and therapies not available elsewhere.

“A therapy being tested may be the most effective available, so the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge trials is extremely significant,” Bota said.

“At UCI Health Cancer Center — Newport, we offer access to new treatments being studied, while patients receive trial follow-up and care close to home, combining the best of the community hospital experience with our academic affiliation.”

Novel treatments include brain tumor vaccines and the use of electrical fields to inhibit the growth of deadly gliomas.
