What sponsorships mean at UCI Health

Sponsorship represents direct financial or in-kind support provided by UCI Health to qualified nonprofit organizations, community groups and healthcare initiatives. 

Our support is focused on programs and events that:

• Enhance public health and education
• Promote community outreach and engagement
• Align with the UCI Health mission and strategic goals

Please note that UCI Health does not offer grants and does not sponsor individual causes or political organizations.

Who can apply

We welcome sponsorship requests from organizations that: 

• Are tax-exempt nonprofit entities or healthcare organizations
• Host events or programs that promote health, education, or community benefit
• Demonstrate alignment with the UCI Health mission, vision and values

Examples of sponsored events include health fairs, fundraising galas, educational lectures and wellness campaigns.

How to request sponsorship

To be considered for sponsorship, your organization must submit a complete request at least 90 days prior to your event or program date. Requests must include:

A formal letter of request with:

• Organization overview
• Description of the sponsorship opportunity and its benefits to UCI Health
• Sponsorship amount requested and budget details
• Information on previous collaboration with UCI Health, if applicable
• Contact information

A sponsorship brochure or event package outlining sponsorship levels and terms

A current W-9 form (dated within six months of the event)

All materials should be submitted through our online sponsorship request form.

Eligibility and guidelines

UCI Health is committed to responsibly allocating sponsorship resources to programs and events that align with our mission and strategic priorities. 

To ensure fairness and compliance with institutional policies, please note that we cannot support the following:

• Travel expenses for individuals or groups
• Religious activities conducted to promote specific doctrines
• Sponsorship requests benefiting an individual person or family
• General operating expenses such as salaries, rent or administrative costs
• Political candidates, campaigns or related organizations
• Memorial funds, scholarships or endowment fundraising
• Capital campaigns or infrastructure projects
• Multi-year funding requests
• Events or organizations located outside of the UCI Health service area
• Field trips, tours or school team-related activities
• Fundraising efforts for employees, teams or individual staff members
• Conference fees or registration costs
• Recreational or amateur sports teams and leagues not aligned with UCI Health strategic initiatives
• Requests submitted by University of California employees, faculty or students on behalf of their departments or personal projects

We encourage applicants to carefully review these guidelines before submitting your sponsorship requests to ensure eligibility and alignment with UCI Health priorities.

How we evaluate requests

Our sponsorship decisions are based on several factors, including:

• Alignment with the UCI Health mission: Discover. Teach. Heal.
• Positive representation of UCI Health through visibility opportunities such as logo placement, event signage and speaking roles
• The relevance of the event or program to our major clinical areas and community health priorities
• Active participation of UCI Health clinical or departmental staff
• Budgetary involvement from the respective UCI Health department

Due to high demand, we will not approve all requests.

After sponsorship approval

We will require successful applicants to provide a summary report following the conclusion of the sponsorship period. This report should include:

Photographs and promotional materials from the event or program

Any agreed-upon deliverables such as samples, event programs or participant feedback
