Whiplash Injury

Whiplash means your neck was bent forcibly forward and then backward, or vice versa.

Kyphosis

A spine affected by kyphosis has a forward curvature of the back bones (vertebrae) in the upper back area, giving an abnormally rounded or humpback appearance.

What Is Spinal Stenosis?

Spinal stenosis is a condition in which the spinal canal narrows and pinches the nerves. This results in back and leg pain.

Help Your Back Work for You

Your back is important to almost every move you make, but you likely won't realize that until you hurt it. Read on for some tips for back pain relief, and learn how to keep your back strong.

Neck Pain

Your neck is at risk for injury because of its location and range of motion. Neck pain can be caused by injury, age, or inflammatory disorders.

Nerve Blocks

Neural blockades, commonly called nerve blocks, are procedures that can help prevent or manage many different types of intractable pain.

Nerve Block for Pain

If you don't get relief from standard pain relievers, your healthcare provider may suggest injecting pain-relieving medicine into the site of the affected nerve.

Treating Pain with Spinal Cord Stimulators

Spinal cord stimulation is one way to manage various types of pain. A spinal cord stimulator is an implanted device that sends low levels of electricity directly into the spinal cord.

Intradiscal Procedures for Back Pain

When the disks themselves are causing back pain or pain radiating to the legs, healthcare providers sometimes do an intradiscal procedure to try to ease the pain.

OTC Pain Medicines and Their Risks

OTC pain relievers can be divided into just 2 main types: acetaminophen and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, or NSAIDs.

TENS Therapy

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, or TENS, offers pain relief for some people by sending low-voltage electrical current into the body.

Cervical Spondylosis

Cervical spondylosis is a type of arthritis that affects your neck. This condition becomes more common with age, and most people who are older than 60 have it.

Lumbar Spinal Stenosis

Lumbar spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal in your lower back that may cause pain or numbness in your legs. Read on for details about causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.

Pinched Nerve

Radiculopathy, commonly called pinched nerve, often occurs in the low back.
