Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Program
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a genetic condition that causes the walls of the heart chamber to thicken, reducing blood flow in and out of the heart. In over two-thirds of people with HCM, the wall between the two bottom ventricles of the heart blocks or reduces blood flow from the left ventricle to the aorta, potentially leading to atrial fibrillation or heart failure.
The comprehensive HCM team at UCI Health provides you with personalized care and leading-edge treatments to effectively manage and improve your condition.
As the only program in Orange County dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of this heart condition, we understand the challenges and concerns that you and your family face daily. Our multidisciplinary team will be with you every step of the way.
