Melanoma Center
Melanoma, the most aggressive of all skin cancers, begins as a mole or other pigmented skin tissue. It accounts for less than 5 percent of U.S. skin cancer cases but the majority of all skin cancer deaths. If caught early, it is very treatable.
At the UCI Health Melanoma Center, our nationally recognized physicians are leading experts in the treatment of melanoma and all types of skin cancers.
Our specialists are part of the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is Orange County's only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and one of only 54 such facilities in the nation. They are at the forefront of research efforts to find new methods to treat and prevent melanoma.
