UCI Health is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as chief executive officer (CEO) for Orange County’s only academic medical center.

The CEO will be accountable for operational oversight to ensure that care is delivered effectively and efficiently in the inpatient and ambulatory settings. S/he will work with leaders across the UCI Health enterprise to ensure that organizational results are maximized.

The new CEO will collaborate with academic, research and clinical leaders, and with strategic partners to ensure that patients have access to high quality, value-based healthcare in the region. S/he will lead initiatives at both the local and state level, and will be a key member of the leadership team to drive programs that benefit the overall health system. The ideal candidate will be equally at ease with internal customers as well as with external constituencies.

The CEO will be a member of the organization’s executive leadership team, and will provide vision and strategic planning in the ever-changing healthcare environment; drive operational excellence in the delivery of high quality, patient-centered care; build key alliances and partnerships in the community and across the UC Health system, and embrace the aspirations of UC Irvine Medical Center to be a preeminent academic medical center.

The CEO should implement an aggressive plan for philanthropy and be engaged with community and state leaders. S/he will be expected to build close and collaborative relationships with the university administration and faculty, as well as with University of California system leadership.
